Big K.R.I.T.'s latest free album / mixtape shows him reaching a serious milestone. In comparison to last year's K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, everything--sampling, beats, rhymes, hooks, features--has gotten better. The guy his more lyrical than most in his area. Hell, he's more lyrical than your average rapper in the mainstream, too. Considering his chops on the mic and behind the board, he could become unstoppable. Another great thing about this tape is that K.R.I.T. effectively plays both sides of the field as he lays down tracks with a socially elevated conscience, and a few party songs, too. Don't throw this thing away because K.R.I.T. raps about a car--and especially don't call his message watered down.
When K.R.I.T. puts together a track like "Rotation" or "My Sub," he keeps his skill level high with catchy beats and hooks. His flow simplifies itself, but he doesn't skip out on the minor details of EQs, tweeters, and radio settings.
I'm looking forward to this guy's future.
