Out on Miasmah now, it's the sophomore LP from Belgium's Kreng: Grimoire.
If a monthly shot of dissonant strings, ambient soundscapes, and noise keep your brain in functioning order, consider spending a few hours this June with this LP. It's basically the feel-scared hit of the summer.
On "Wrak," Kreng builds some souring strings up against a mournful piano. It all comes to a head when drums and horns enter the mix and start fighting like a drunk couple in a dark, seedy bar on a Tuesday night--because they're definitely not the type to have work in the morning.
It's the beautiful side of ugly.
