New york punk trio Poor Lily has a new EP out titled Three Songs, and, yeah, it's three songs long. There was a short run of physical copies, but the tracks are now available digitally through the band's site.
Currently, Lily is aiming for a summer release for its next album, and these three tracks were supposed to open it up, but they decided to pull these together into an EP after the untimely passing of the producer they had been working with, Jacques Cohen. Three Songs is dedicated to him, and he most certainly brought a fresh clarity to Lily's frenetic and chaotic approach to punk music.
On the track "Third Rail," the band offers some sharp guitar leads, a blood-pumping bassline, and a twisted story involving being electrocuted via the third rail of a subway track.
