A series of instrumentals from up-and-coming producer Real Soul titled Nintendo and Kush right here.
While this instrumental album's embrace of drug culture might come off a bit gimmicky at first, there are some nice fusions of hip hop, jazz, and electronic music on this thing. The track "8bit Dreams" not only has the kind of frenetic synth bass sequencing that reminds me of Squarepusher, but I'm sure Thundercat fans could appreciate what's going on here as well.
I don't think every track on this 20-song release is a hit, but there are some interesting ideas, for sure.
