Talented Philadelphia-based MC Lushlife has a new video for "Magnolia," the opening track of his Plateau Vision
LP from this year. In it, chunky cardboard cutouts of the song's lyrics are worn on the heads of people in the various scenarios the song references. Everyone from arsonists to choir singers gets to rock the handcrafted headwear and the quick edits used to switch from one whacky scene to the next give the video a very fun, sporadic energy. Highly enjoyable and cost-effective without compromising production value, the video is yet another testament to what DIY video production in the modern age can achieve with imagination.
