Beach House - "Dive"

New Musictheneedledrop1 Comment

Yesterday, Beach House shared “Dive,” the second single from their upcoming album, 7. The song features the dream pop mainstay’s typically spacey and reverb-heavy sound, but doesn’t follow the structure featured in lead single “Lemon Glow.” Instead, “Dive” is a slow build starting with synths and a steady bass drum, escalating to echoing drums and layered shoegaze guitars.

In addition to detailing the new album, Beach House has announced a world tour that kicks off on April 30 in Chattanooga. 7 is slated for a May 11 release via Sub Pop.

Beach House - "Wishes"

Beach House drops an Eric Wareheim-directed video for the track "Wishes," and it's absolutely insane. The stellar track comes from the band's latest album, Bloom, and it's a hilarious goof and spoof on sporting events.

Just about everything in the video is ridiculous; however, what Wareheim does so well is compounds all of these silly elements to create a world that actually seems pretty legitimate in it's own right.

Stream: Beach House- Bloom Baltimore dream pop duo Beach House is set to release its latest album, Bloom, on Sub Pop Records next week, but the entire album is now streaming for your listening pleasure on NPR Music. As you may remember, Beach House's last album, Teen Dream, was one of my favorites of 2010, so it'll be exciting to see where the duo's music goes next.
