Holograms - "Meditations"

VideosadminComment

Sweden's Holograms have a new album out this month titled Forever! It's being released by the good people at Captured Tracks, and I recommend it if you're crazy about dark, synth-backed post-punk music. Above is an embed of a newly released music video for the album track "Meditations." It's a eerie set of visuals involving some sheet-covered figures in variety of places looking absolutely creepy and grim.

Holograms - "Flesh And Bone" (LOVED)

The Swedish post-punk outfit known as Holograms has announced a new album, and they've put out a new track to drum up excitement. Like many tracks on the band's debut, "Flesh And Bone" feels dismal and emotionally defeated. However, the band seems to have gotten a better recording this time around. Not only that, but there are more melodic details to this track, and a pretty climactic ending as well. The band is really shooting for the stars on this one, and finding a niche of their own in this brave new world of downtrodden post-punk. Enjoy!

EDIT: THE TRACK POSTED ABOVE IS SOME KIND OF "NEW VERSION," APPARENTLY. WHAT WAS POSTED YESTERDAY, THE SONG I WAS REACTING TO, HAD A DIFFERENT SOUND TO IT. STILL, A LOT OF THE SINGS I SAID STAND IN THIS DIFFERENT VERSION.

A new track from the forthcoming Holograms album, which is self-titled and dropping via Captured tracks on July 10th. The band hails from Sweden and showcases a noisy, chaotic post-punk vibe. After a handful of listens to this album, I have to admit it is a bit similar to the Iceage album that dropped last year, New Brigade, but Holograms come off much less abrasive; favoring catchy hooks and moody vocals instead.
