Thanks to Thin Black Duke's lavish orchestration and tour-de-force vocal performances from frontman Eugene Robinson, eminent underground rock outfit Oxbow has delivered a comeback album that leaves me lost for words for all the right reasons.
Mamiffer and Pyramids come together for some for a split 12, featuring some pretty heady and dark noise, drones, and experimental musings. This, sadly, will be one of the final releases of the soon-to-be-disbanded Hydra Head records.
An 8-minute monster from the forthcoming Cave In album, White Silence. Some of the heaviest riffs I've heard in a few months. Clean vocals usually don't do it for me in a style like this, but it's just working for me this time around. Really looking forward to the album now.
