Here's the first track to drop from the forthcoming New Build album, Yesterday Was Lived and Lost. The group comes straight out of the UK, and the album the song comes from should be out in March. They've also got strong connections to groups like Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem.
A lot like that Rhye track I just blogged today, this rhythm and synths on this one call out to the 80s, but nostalgia isn't where this song ultimately gets its power. The quirky, syncopated guitars and drums that interject between the verses are a pretty nice highlight. The vocals themselves have a pretty calming quality to them, and the fiery guitar solo at the finish of this track is great.
A fun and somewhat odd pop track I'm pretty psyched on. Get more info on the band here.
