West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar graces us with a new single.
In anticipation of his imminent Oxymoron LP, ScHoolboy Q releases this single with his Black Hippy brother Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick raps in Spanish, Q raps about drugs and ladies, but the real star of this song is the beat, which was produced by TDE in-house producer THC. The drum track sounds like it was lifted from an indie-rock band from the late aughts, all rim hits and tribal propulsion, but the synths are pillowy and serene. This song looks like it could soundtrack many upcoming summer nights. Enjoy!

Black Hippy crew member Ab-soul has been leaking a lot of songs from his upcoming album Control System, the latest being a track featuring Kendrick Lamar. On this song both of them show their lyrical prowess on the subject of how they make the music they want to make and what success means to them. Ab-soul has been showing with all of his recent releases an improved ability to create some dynamic wordplay in his songs, as well as a general improvement to his flow. Kendrick continues to kill every track he is featured on using some pretty intense wordplay of his own, as well as a gruff, focused vocal delivery that makes his lyrics hit much harder.
Control System is out May 11.
