West Coast hip hop vet Del The Funky Homosapien--uh, a.k.a. Zartan Drednaught COBRA--recently dropped a new album on SoundCloud that's about thirty minutes in length, and features some pretty progressive instrumentals. The overall presentation of the beats and rhymes here is a little more abstract than what Del's been appearing on lately with his solo stuff, Deltron 3030, and Hieroglyphics. While I know his latest material in those acts has pleased plenty, Iller Than Most is scratching a weirdo itch I've been waiting for Del to address. Enjoy!

Like usual, Del drops some personality-driven verses that bring extra servings of lyrics and character. Parallel Thought's production is solid, featuring a pretty airing organ that keeps the instrumental sounding a bit atmospheric.
Look for this LP on June 19th. From what I hear, Deltron 2 is supposed to be on the way sometime soon, too.

New TracksCommentDel The Funky Homosapien has released his second free mix tape in the West Coast Avenger series he is working on. Del is on a mission with this tape. He's clearly not impressed with the direction rap music is headed, and his lyrics are taking steady aim at mainstream artists in a general sense. His rhymes and unconventional flow are on point throughout the tape. The production presents one Fela Kuti sample after another, featuring spacey funk beats layered with brass. Each track runs for about 2 minutes, no song overstays its welcome.
