Evian Christ - "Waterfall"

New TracksadminComment

Evian Christ's typically dark, moody production sounds like it's been infused with power electronics or industrial on this new track titled "Waterfall." The massive drops of bass sound fantastic against the really eerie, atmospheric synth leads playing throughout this track. He progressively builds the track into this mountain of low-end mayhem that's both frightening and cathartic.

At the beginning of January, I fell in love with the music of Evian Christ at first listen. The young London-based producer just has a really creative approach to beatmusic; incorporating elements of hip hop, ambient music, and various sounds from the latest electronic music trends in the UK.

I wasn't the only one who felt that way, though. Evian received quite a bit of blog buzz for the handful of tracks he had anonymously uploaded to a YouTube channel not too long ago.

Thanks to the uproar, Evian has now released a free compilation of all the tracks he's released so far on YouTube, and should be releasing more material in the future on the label that recently recruited him, Tri Angle Records.

Evian Christ- "fuck it none of y'all don't rap" (Loved)

The blog-o-sphere is in a buzz this afternoon over a new producer who goes by the name of Evian Christ. Not a lot is known about this guy outside of the eight tracks uploaded to his YouTube channel thus far. I know it seems pretty silly to be getting worked up over some random YouTube channel, but the dude's beats are pretty sick.

One of my favorites so far is "MYD," which has an aura surrounding it that's equal parts scary and beautiful. When the vocal sample finally kicks in, it's a gorgeous rush of sound that can only be rivaled by a Clams Casino track or a song from the latest Oneohtrix Point Never album.

But in this post, I ultimately have to give it up for the track "fuck it none of y'all rap." It's got a disorienting groove. These three noisy bass hits repeat against this choppy vocal sample that just gets me pumped. Loving this a lot.
