Karen O and Ezra Koenig - "The Moon Song"

New TracksjeremyComment

Stream: Karen O and Ezra Koenig - "The Moon Song" Rolling Stone has a feature about a new studio recording of Karen O's deeply lovely original song she recorded for Spike Jonze's melancholy, wonderful film Her from last year. The song is nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song, and if it weren't for Frozen's "Let it Go", I'd say this has a good shot at winning. Nonetheless, Karen has recorded a clean, delicate studio rendition with guest vocals from Ezra Koenig, and the result is pretty magical.

Listen above via Rolling Stone. And go see Her, it's really good!

Last week, I gave Chromeo's new album a hefty 9/10. The album's catchy beats, sensual vocals, and retro synths all added up into something I couldn't deny. At its core, the LP is a pop record, but it's well-traveled and seeks to pay homage to its forefathers: George Clinton, Huey Lewis, and the Bee Gees, among others.

This track is a bonus to the digital version of the LP found on iTunes, and features Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig. Hearing him and Dave duet on this thing is a serious treat. I just wish this song had been released earlier, because it may have built up a little more pre-album buzz. Would be cool to get more VW fans into this sweet jam:
