Here We Go Magic- "Hard To Be Close"

Here We Go Magic drops visuals for the track "Hard To Be Close," which comes from the band's new LP on Secretly Canadian, A Different Ship.

The concept seems kind of obvious, a trio of dudes getting stuck in an elevator, but the "story" of the video gets progressively absurd and hilarious as time goes on--millions of years, to be exact.

Some stellar visuals coming from the new Here We Go Magic video for "How Do I Know." The song is off the band's forthcoming LP A Different Ship. It'll be out on Secretly Canadian on May 8th.

HWGM is still working with the groove-based and krautrock-influenced sounds that made the band's last album, Pigeons, so enchanting. Though this style of experimental rock is informing this music heavily, the band really knows how to make it light-hearted, fun, and poppy. The video helps along with those feelings as well, featuring a man who is torn between his disabled wife and dancing robot. It's an odd story accompanied with a beautiful color palette. Props to director Sean Peknold.

Stream: Here We Go Magic- "How Do I Know" Brooklyn-based group Here We Go Magic has released a new single from their upcoming LP, A Different Ship , which is set to be released on May 8th. "How Do I Know" has a fun, upbeat tempo that continues to build, creating a progressively fuller sound; once the bass line kicks in, it becomes a pretty nostalgic rock song. The lyrics capture the feeling that the instrumentation presents as singer Luke Temple asks the question of how does one know if they are in love with some light pop-style vocal delivery.

Here We Go Magic- "Make Up Your Mind"

A new track from Here We Go Magic's forthcoming LP, A Different Ship. It's set to drop via Secretly Canadian on May 8th.

"Make Up Your Mind" shoots for roughly the same quirky, Feelies-inspired rock sound that material off of Pigeons and January did. I will say this time, however, the music does not feel as cold or intentionally robotic. Rather than being eye-widening and hypnotic, "Make Up Your Mind" comes off as almost danceable. Definitely a warmer sound from these guys.

Here We Go Magic- "Hands In the Sky"

A new track from New York's Here We Go Magic. If you remember, last year's Pigeons got a pretty positive review. It had a few rough spots, but I really admire where this band is going with their sound. The light, krautrock-ish textures are a fantastic fit for the gentle songs the band develops.

"Hands In the Sky" comes from the band's forth coming release: The January EP. It's actually out May 10th through Secretly Canadian. Confusing, I know.

What I'm not confused on is my joy. The vocal melody here progresses masterfully. Yes, masterfully! I love the subtle synths that build in the background after the first verse. The guitar hangs softly in the background, and adds the perfect amount of texture.

This thing comes off reserved, but it's no less gorgeous for it. Dig on:
