The trio pushes their sound's electronic elements and futuristic vibes further to mostly great results.

The Gaslamp Killer- "Impulse" ft. Daedelus
New Tracks1 CommentLos Angeles beat maestro The Gaslamp Killer is readying his first proper full-length album for a September 18 release via Brainfeeder. The record will be called Breakthrough, and features guest contributions from Gonjasufi, Samiyam, Shigeto, Dimlite, Daedelus, and several others. The latter is featured on the most recent track to drop from the LP, "Impulse," which is available to stream and download above.
Like with the first taste we were given of this album, "Flange Face," The Gaslamp Killer uses "Impulse" as an avenue to explore a heavy, twisted take on beat music. Crunchy drums, thick bass, unsettling samples, and 8-bit-esque synths assemble into a thrilling exercise in sinister atmosphere and driving rhythms. Considering how developed the Killer's sound is here, it is somewhat difficult to remember that Breakthrough will only be his first album; however, it also heightens my excitement for what will hopefully be an exceptional representation of his work.
