King Krule - Man Alive!
ReviewsCommentThe more direct and tuneful approach King Krule takes on Man Alive! makes it—to my ears—a vast improvement over The Ooz.
King Krule - The OOZ
ReviewsCommentKing Krule returns with a series of vague, moody musical sketches
Archy Marshall - A New Place 2 Drown
Reviews1 CommentArchy Marshall, a.k.a. King Krule, returns with a new album of downtrodden, spacey hip hop motifs that bore more than they inspire.
King Krule - "A Lizard State"
New TracksCommentThe brain behind one of my favorite albums of 2013 King Krule kicks off this new year with a great video concept that makes its Hitchcock reference clear. The black & white color is dramatic, and the intimate framing on these shots gives the video an edge as well. Props to director Jamie-James Medina.
King Krule - 6 Feet Beneath the Moon
ReviewsCommentKing Krule - "Neptune Estate"
New Tracks2 CommentsKing Krule gives us yet another peak at the forthcoming 6 Feet Beneath the Moon. The UK singer-songwriter was teased us with one forlorn song after another, fronted by his deep, emotive, melancholy vocals. This particular track feels a little less minimal than some of what we've heard thus far, though. "Neptune Estate" features some spacious pianos set against a sharp, revered drum loop. There are some odd sound effects and beautiful horns that lift the track's spirits as it progresses, bringing some real soul into the picture. Enjoy, and look for King Krule's full-length debut on 24 August via XL Recordings and True Panther Sounds.
King Krule - "Easy Easy"
VideosCommentUK singer-songwriter King Krule puts some visuals to the minimal and stripped-down "Easy Easy." Enjoy!
