Natural Child- "DTV"

Here's a track, "DTV," from the forthcoming Natural Child album, For the Love of the Game. I did an audio review of the album the band released last year on Infinity Cat, 1971. The 7" they reissued last year was pretty boss, too.

With this new track, like usual, the band is keeping rock 'n' roll dirty so you don't have to. You can wash your hands and enjoy their cleanliness. These guys are mucking around in the dirt, grime, and raw sewage in order to dish out some of the filthiest rock tunes laid to tape.

It's nothing new if you're already a garage rock fan--especially when it comes to the band Black Lips--but Natural Child still plays this stuff as if they're the first to do it. Guts, guts, guts.

Natural Child- 1971

Natural Child's 1971 is an attitude-heavy set of rock tunes that emulate everything from power pop to the kind of classic rock they play on the AM band. Stylistically, this LP is all over the place, which is kind of surprising since the 7'' EP I reviewed of theirs a while back has a pretty consistent blend of punk and garage rock. What is consistent here is the personality of this record, which is dirty, horny, stoned, and brutally honest. There's something to be said for that. At least Natural Child isn't hiding its true self. Most people hide these traits. This band flaunts them. Maybe this music will be your opportunity to embrace them.

After throwing their self-titled 7'' on the LOVED LIST, all I could hope for is a new Natural Child release this year. My prayers have been answered.

1971 is set for a 4/20 release on Infinity Cat Records, and "Hard Workin' Man" is the first track to drop from the release.

This track is so lazy and beaten down, I can smell whiskey on its breath after the long drive from the factory. It'd probably be driving around in a rusty, old pickup truck, too.

Natural Child- Self-Titled 7''

Natural Child's self-titled 7'' is a fierce piece of garage punk. These guys party hard on their songs. So hard, I had a hang over just from listening to this thing on repeat. If you're in the market for something rough, fun, and wild, lend your ears.

This retro, bike-riding beauty isn't the subject at hand here, though. This is just the cover for the new Natural Child 7''. I blogged some pretty grimy Nashville rock last week, and it seems these guys are in the same boat. They've got a new 7'' out via Infinity Cat, and the song below is on it. The release features songs about smoking crack with your friends and having sex with someone you don't want to. Enjoy:
