Albert Hammond Jr. gets real on The Strokes' new album release date

Despite already being on the road supporting their new album, Reality Awaits, The Strokes fans will have to wait a little longer than initially expected to get new music from New York's finest, as their album has been pushed from June 26 to July 24.

Speaking with fans on social media, Hammond Jr. noted that the album's digital release has been delayed to correspond with their vinyl record's release date, allowing for a synergistic release across multiple formats. He also noted that he's excited about how the new album is shaking out, noting he likes that the recording sounds like a "weird, young band" in a post that has since been deleted but has been archived by fans on Reddit.

Fortunately for fans of New York's premier early 2000's quintet, there is a chance to hear at least a fifth of the group on a new track, as AHJ has recorded a song with Kenny Hoopla called "NEW AMERICA//" that has officially dropped on Juneteenth.

Currently in the early stages of a World Tour that will run through November across multiple continents, fans will eagerly anticipate more news from The Strokes, be that about their vinyl record, any new singles, or another sidequest in the musical world.
