Following last month's lead single of the same name, Beth Orton has confirmed the June 26 release of The Ground Above, her self-produced follow-up to 2022's acclaimed Weather Alive. New, piano-led track "Waiting" is described by the London-based musician as “a celebration of moving out of the holding pattern fear keeps us in.”

Listen below:

According to a press release, The Ground Above is an album of two halves – a "more fragmented, searching" A side and a B side of "warmer, more expansive melodic forms" – and took about a year to make. Singer/songwriter Nick Hakim guests on "Cigarette Curls," and the cast of musicians across the LP includes Shahzad Ismaily, Tom Herbert, Dave Okumu, and Portishead's Adrian Utley.

The Ground Above is out June 26 via Partisan Records. Pre-order here. Tracklist below:

2. Before I Knew
