Chat Pile is one of the few bands adequately equipped to describe the horrors of end-stage capitalism, and they return with a new album, Who Loves the Sun, on September 6th on The Flenser.
The first single, "Deep Blue," was surprisingly melodic. Today they've unveiled a new one, "PEN I S MALL," which is not. In fact, their bassist Stin is quoted in the press sheet as calling it "the heaviest Chat Pile song to date."
"The song and title refer to a stretch of time when Raygun was working as a maintenance man at one of the local shopping malls here in OKC. He screamed himself into a pretty brutal headache tracking this one, if I remember correctly."
It comes with a music video that matches the ugly death-marching vibe, with dead-eyed workers dragging human bodies to be disposed of, including a cameo from Matt Korvette of kindred spirits Pissed Jeans. Watch and listen to "PEN I S MALL" below.
