Following last year’s Sum Variations EP, Josephine Foster has announced the May 1 release of Adormidera, a co-release by Seattle-based Eiderdown Records and Irish experimental music label Nyahh. All seven songs on the record were written by Spanish composer Víctor Herrero, who selected from his back catalog – three from 2020's Hermana and four from 2013’s Estampida – and accompanies Foster on classical guitar.
The two have a long history of working together, recording two Spanish-language albums as Josephine Foster and the Víctor Herrero Band, and another with Mendrugo, a trio they formed with Herrero's brother.

Adormidera (Josephine Foster Sings the Songs of Víctor Herrero) is out on May 1. Pre-order here. Tracklist below:
1. Adormidera
2. Añil
3. Avellaneda
4. Communion

In other Foster news, the artist recently made a cameo as a Shaker singer among Amanda Seyfried's congregation in the Mona Fastvold-directed The Testament of Ann Lee. She had previously worked on the Norwegian director's 2021 film, The World to Come, performing and co-writing the end credits song with composer Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist, The Testament of Ann Lee).
She also recently guested on a new song by Grimm Grimm. Listen below:
