Rico Nasty announces new album, releases new single "Cupcake"

Nic Huber

It's been barely a year, but Rico Nasty is back with a brand new album titled RX, due out July 24 via Sugar Trap.

Once again teaming up with producer Kenneth Blume, formerly known as Kenny Beats, the album's second single, "Cupcake," is available below:

The album was recorded between filming her AppleTV+ debut Margot's Got Money Troubles, starring Elle Fanning, Michelle Pheiffer, Nicole Kidman, and Nick Offerman, among others, and her 2025 fall tour.

In addition to Kennyyyy!, RX also features contributions from 100 Gecs' Dylan Brady, who also produced the upcoming album's eighth track "Kiss N Make Up."

Last month, Rico dropped "Rituals," the album's first single and her first taste of new music since 2025's LETHAL. The fiery track marked her first reunion with Blume since their 2019 collaborative mixtape Anger Management.

Of working with Blume again, Rico said in a statement:

“I missed someone that was honest with me. And I missed someone who knew me back then, before I had any success. I felt like if I’m going to get back to doing me, I should go back to someone who can be real with me, somebody who’s not too serious or draining.”

In a press release for "Rituals," Rico said she is taking it back to the basics:

“What inspired me to work with Kenny again was hearing the discourse. A lot of fans miss my rapping, so I wanted them to know I never forgot. I just want people to listen, and I hope it reminds them why I’m their favorite rapper.”
