Russian Ye dates canceled, organizer under fraud investigation

Kanye West's (now known as Ye) two sold-out Russian tour dates have officially been canceled after months of uncertainty. The Moscow-based organizer, Say Agency, announced in a statement posted to Telegram on September 30th:

"Friends, with sincere regret, we inform you that Ye's concerts in St. Petersburg will not be able to take place on the scheduled dates. We will soon provide an official statement regarding the project's status and future plans.

Refunds for purchased tickets will open on Monday, October 12, 2026. We will publish details about the refund rules and conditions shortly.

Say Agency is very grateful to everyone who has been with us over the past month and a half: supporting us, worrying about us, and, like us, wholeheartedly awaiting these concerts. We remain in touch and continue working."

According to Russian news publication Kommersant, St. Petersburg’s Petrogradsky district police are actively investigating the organizer for alleged fraud. The investigation was prompted after complaints from attendees arose regarding ticket refunds.

The Needle Drop covered the tumult surrounding these shows in August, when St. Petersburg's Gazprom Arena canceled the Ye concerts, citing the lack of a contractual agreement. Say Agency denied the arena's claims at the time and stated the concerts had not actually been canceled.

Ye, known antisemite, sparked much controversy when the Russian dates were announced. Despite walking back his antisemitic remarks in a Wall Street Journal ad earlier this year, the St. Petersburg shows provoked outrage, as Nazi rehabilitation is a criminal offense in Russia.
