The Flaming Lips are preparing to release a box set for the 20th anniversary of At War with the Mystics, and have released two demos for the track "The Sound of Failure" ahead of the expanded reissue.

Listen below:

A remastered six-disc collection, the anthology box set includes previously unreleased demos and studio recordings from the psychedelic rockers, as well as non-album tracks and live concert recordings. It's due out November 13 via Rhino / Warner Records.

Originally released in 2006, At War with the Mystics won Grammy Awards for best rock instrumental performance and best engineered album (non-classical), and was nominated for best alternative album.

It was also the first studio album to feature former drummer Clifton "Kliph" Scurlock.

The upcoming box set includes the original album, B-sides from singles and compilations released at the time, and a 360-degree behind-the-scenes look at how the Lips wrote the music.

According to Rolling Stone, one disc includes several demos, some only a minute long, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the band's creative process in the studio. The box set also includes songs that contributed to movie soundtracks like The Heartbreak Kid and Spider-Man 3.

At War with the Mystics is out November 13 on 6CD, 6LP, and digital formats. Pre-order here. Tracklist below:
