TVOD share new single, "Wet Brain"

Today, the NYC art punks TVOD have shared "Wet Brain," the second single off their upcoming album The Farm, out October 16 via Mothland. The new track comes with an official, self-directed music video.

Watch/listen to "Wet Brain" below:

The new track is angular and fraught, sharpening the droning rhythm section with wiry synths and vocalist Tyler Wright's propulsive, anthemic yells. Inspired by slacker rock and debuted at their SXSW performance, the new song is about "ruining relationships, concurrent hair of the dogs, and wishing you had never said that dumb thing to your now ex," according to the band. "A post-punk tribute to Sixteen Candles."

The cynicism and biting self-awareness of the track — its ability to lyrically call out its own narrator for bad behavior, and for getting numb instead of taking action — follows the theme of The Farm, which comments on the human instinct to ignore the world collapsing in front of us. With frenetic drum lines and crashing cymbals, the sheer noise of the new track drowns out the throbbing hangovers and shame pooling in its belly.
