Rising act Winona Fighter return with their sophomore record, Brutal and Extremely Underrated, out on January 22 via Rise Records. The 12-track LP explores Winona Fighter's melodic sensibilities and punk ethos. Lyrically, the group dives deeper into political topics, like the growing societal dependence on AI.

The lead single, "LEECH," is out now. Listen:

"LEECH" breaks the first rule of musician Fight Club: DON'T READ THE COMMENTS. Kinnon admits that the advice against this practice was correct, but the song's tenacity greatly outweighs the comment section's audacious anonymity.

Vocalist Chloe 'Coco' Kinnon says, "We went into this record with a little bit more knowledge and confidence. There’s more swagger, and we had bigger goals for ourselves.” Kinnon echoes that this record reifies their core values, saying, "We speak on real things, we’re real people, everything on the record is real. Every instrument, every vocal take."

Along with the album, Winona Fighter is hitting the road early next year, after concluding 2026 at Taking Back Sunday's holiday show in New Jersey. They will also perform at the Shattered Shores Cruise next September. Check all those dates below.
