J. Cole - Born Sinner

 Stream: J. Cole - Born Sinner J. Cole is looking to take new notes from fellow rapper and friend Kendrick Lamar in creating a darker moodier album. The only real question is, does it actually achieve what it sets out to do?

In terms of production it most certainly feels that way. A lot of the beats here are stunningly original, and are brooding with heavy drums. Easily some of the most impressive instrumentals I've heard this year. Even though Cole could do more with his lyrics, he can definitely ride a beat. I think he's yet to  tell the cohesive story it feels like his production is demanding.
