Eternal Summers- Prisoner EP

On its latest EP, which is a folloup to 2010's Silver, Eternal Summers being four new tracks into their discography, embracing the sounds of twee and fem-powered post-punk acts the UK was churning out in the late 70s and early 80s. Though not every track here hit me hard, there are a couple nice numbers on here that are worth remembering. I'll definitely be looking forward to what this group does in the future. Is this EP for you? Find out in this review.

Eternal Summers- "Prisoner"

An energetic track from Eternal Summers' 12'' Prisoner EP via Forest Family Records.

On "Prisoner," Eternal Summers displays a universal desire: Freedom. People protest, fight, and die for the freedom to seek out their own happiness; but after the dust has settled, our personal prisons have still got us on lockdown. Sometimes curiosity gets the best of us, and makes it impossible do to anything else but scratch that mental itch.

That's what this song says to me, anyway.

The post-punk'd drums, female vocals, and romping drum beats aren't bad, too.
