Ondatrópica - "Chop 'n' Quench"

New TracksadminComment

Latin music supergroup Ondatrópica covering man, myth, legend Fela Kuti on this new single of theirs for Soundway Records. If you're unfamiliar with this band, they just so happened to put out one of the most ambitious records in modern Latin music last year. The band features approximately forty members--many of whom have long histories as performers of cumbia and Latin Jazz.

Check out a review of the band's self-titled release below:

Chico Mann - "Same Old Clown"

A new single from multi-instrumentalist, producer Chico Mann, which features a smooth vocal contribution from Kendra Morris--who is sounding pretty Little Dragon on this particular cut, I might add.

The track teases toward the release of Mann's new EP, which is dropping the first week of March on Soundway Records.

Cyril Diaz & His Orchestra- "Voodoo"

OK, time for something old and eerie: "Voodoo." It's a song from one of Soundway Records' latest 10" records. The release is an EP of four instrumental tracks from Cyril Diaz & His Orchestra, which were put out in the 1950s.

These tracks all have fantastic backing beats and tons of energy. They really make me wanna move; however, there's something smokey and mysterious about them, too. Something that's somewhat dark and difficult to explain.
