Universe is the brainchild of California synthworshipper Hunter J. Skowron. He's got a plethora of releases on his bandcamp, and a new 7'' EP on the way via Everything Is Chemical on 11/17.
The EP's title: Obispeno. It's five tracks inspired by the life and folklore of the Chumash people, which was a tribe of Native Americans who originally inhabited the southern coast of California.
On "Anacapa," Hunter doesn't deliver a song as much as he does a soundscape. Even with a reverbed snare keeping tempo in the background, the synthesizers seem more interested in exploring time and space. It's an icy little odyssey. Download and stream it below:
