Baths - "Miasma Sky"
New Tracks5 CommentsSinger-songwriter and electronic music producer Baths has a new single out titled "Miasma Sky," which is teasing toward the release of his sophomore full-length, Obsidian.
Though Baths' eccentric, feathery vocals have maintained their place in his music, it would seem that a bit of the textured glitch hop sounds that made Cerulean such an interesting record have disappeared almost completely. It's a shame to hear some of the more interesting sounds Baths was known for fail to make it onto this new track, but maybe others on Obsidian will present some more interesting synths and percussion.
Cokiyu - "Twinkle Way" ft. Baths
New TracksCommentA precious track from Cokiyu, which features bubbly synth arpeggios, dreamy vocals, and a slow-moving beat that's riddled with detail.
Cokiyu is the pseudonym of music producer Yukiko Ito, and the track streaming above comes from her latest single release, "Haku," which features collaborations from a handful of different artists like Baths, Geskia!, and LASTorder. More info here, and enjoy the track!
Milo- Milo Takes Baths
New Tracks11 CommentsI warned you about the forthcoming Milo mixtape, and now it's here. Milo Takes Baths is one track after another of witty rhymes, obscure references, and instrumentals produced by beatmusic artist Baths. Download or stream the release above, and check a video for the mixtape track "the Confrontation At Khazad-Dûm" here.
Milo- "Atlas Flushed" (Grumpy Groucho Marxist Response)
New Tracks7 CommentsLast year, I covered quite a few up-and-coming MCs, and one of the most clever I came across was a young buck by the name of Milo. His debut mixtape, I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here, was one of the first releases I've heard to take the nerd rap and make it relatable and endearing--you know, instead of a cartoony effigy.
Milo's got a new mixtape on the way, and it's nothing but new rhymes and instrumentals from beatmusic producer Baths. The title? Milo Takes Baths.
We're premiering the track "Atlas Flushed" right here, and it features Milo's usual deadpan and doubled delivery, which I find to have a certain quiet intensity to it.
Lyrical topics jump from God, nude photos, Google Adsense, and the top-notch Ghostface Killah album Fishscale. It's an eccentric, personal set of lyrics that are fun to follow. Check the cover art of this mixtape below, and look for its official release later this month.
