Reviews7 CommentsWith good kid, m.A.A.d. city, Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar drops what's easily hip hop's most cinematic album of 2012.
Kendrick Lamar- "Compton" ft. Dr. Dre
New Tracks1 CommentCompton rapper Kendrick Lamar has always been pretty proud of where he is, referencing it numerous times--in lights both positive and negative--in his songs. However, this new track is truly his biggest tribute yet, featuring the likes of Compton legend Dr. Dre on a few verses. Also, that hook? Completely hold school, but the track has a really fresh feel to it. Really digging what Kendrick brought on this track, and it's only making my anticipation for this dude's next album, good kid, m.a.a.d. city, even hotter.

Kendrick Lamar- "The Recipe" ft. Dr. Dre
New Tracks2 CommentsAfter the stellar "Cartoons & Cereal," Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar drops a new single, and land's a feature from none other than Dr. Dre.
Of course, this special occasion needs a special instrumental. The beat here sounds bit more refined than the instrumentals Kendrick usually spits over, featuring loads of plucked and bowed strings. A distant female vocal sample adds another element of beauty, too.
The lyrics tossed between Kendrick and Dre show pride in their hometown. Though other cities can be great, there's no place like home.
