Deadmau5' new, double album showcases much more finesse and maturity than his past releases. His usual house bangers are dark, textured. Meanwhile, much of the second disc feels like it was inspired by some in-depth listens to a film score or two.

Skrillex- "Rock N' Roll (Will Take You To The Mountain)" ‡ STREAM

A major perk of what I do is I'm constantly running into music I'd never hear otherwise. The EP pictured left is one in dozens of examples.

A very passionate Needle Drop of mine took it upon himself to spread my fandom of electro, house, and techno a little further past the usual suspects: Deadmau5, Justice, Daft Punk, Boys Noize.

Skrillex, a.k.a. Sonny Moore, is a California producer, and his music is hard to play, but only because it's a little bit of everything. The track below rocks harder than an all-night rager, but there's way too much detail to simply cast it off as a party song. There are elements of house, but the speedy builds and whizzing samples make it pretty progressive. The bass programming calls out to the world of dubstep pretty loudly, too.
