Vallenfyre - Splinters
ReviewsCommentThe UK's Vallenfyre brings together a slew of different death metal styles on this sophomore record of theirs, and feeds them through some incredibly heavy, pummeling production.
Young Fathers - "WAR"
New TracksCommentA brand new single from the Scottish experimental hip hop outfit Young Fathers. The group is getting set to drop a new full-length via Anticon on February 3rd. The title of this thing: DEAD.
"WAR" isn't one of Young Fathers' most hard-hitting tracks, but it is one of their strangest, alternating between intense stints of spoken word, and impassioned group singing. Enjoy!
Flatbush Zombies - "Death"
VideosCommentNew York's Flatbush Zombies have a new video out for the track "Death," which is one of the many grimy, eerie cuts from the trio's new mixtape, BetterOffDEAD. The visuals here depict the Zombies roaming through some kind of farm area. The ending hints toward some kind of zombie apocalypse going on, but the guys seem readily equipped with chainsaws and bats.

Gorguts - "Colored Sands" (LOVED)
New Tracks12 CommentsSome heavy, crushing, and melodic death metal from Gorguts on this title track from their new album, Colored Sands. The LP is dropping August 30th, and I'd be willing to call this my favorite album of the year if every other track on this release is just as wild, groovy, and darkly harmonious. Not only does the band showcase a fantastic command of groove and interplay on the difficult riffs laid out here, but the massive sound is brings the detailed writing here to another level. Enjoy!

Download This Free Arsis EP
New TracksCommentDownload: Arsis- Lepers Caress Arsis are the next artists in line to have Scion put out another free EP for streaming and downloading. Scion has already put out some stellar stuff in recent years, ranging from Magrudergrind to Immolation. With Lepers Caress, we just might have one of the best releases of the bunch. Virginia melodic, technical death metallers Arsis return to form with a much less glam-influenced sound than their previous LP. Throw in your textbook fretboard-wizardry from mastermind James Malone as well as a redone version of one of the band's first--and most underrated--songs, "Veil of Mourning Black," and you have the makings of one hell of a 19-minute listen. Hell, it's free! Why would you not check this out?!
Thanks, Kit!
Knelt Rote- Trespass
New TracksCommentUtterly heavy, gruesome, and relentless is the new Knelt Rote album, which you can stream via the Bandcamp widget above.
Goatwhore- "When Steel and Bone Meet"
New Tracks1 CommentAnother track drops from the new Goatwhore album, which came out this week on Metal Blade Records.
"When Steel and Bone Meet" has some strong thrash riffage, and vocals that cut like the steel mentioned in the song's title. While it doesn't contain a whole lot of detail or finesse, Goatwhore has the necessary energy and production to make aggression for aggression's sake pretty entertaining.
