Young Fathers - "WAR"

New TracksadminComment

A brand new single from the Scottish experimental hip hop outfit Young Fathers. The group is getting set to drop a new full-length via Anticon on February 3rd. The title of this thing: DEAD.

"WAR" isn't one of Young Fathers' most hard-hitting tracks, but it is one of their strangest, alternating between intense stints of spoken word, and impassioned group singing. Enjoy!

Flatbush Zombies - "Death"

New York's Flatbush Zombies have a new video out for the track "Death," which is one of the many grimy, eerie cuts from the trio's new mixtape, BetterOffDEAD. The visuals here depict the Zombies roaming through some kind of farm area. The ending hints toward some kind of zombie apocalypse going on, but the guys seem readily equipped with chainsaws and bats.

Gorguts - "Colored Sands" (LOVED)

Some heavy, crushing, and melodic death metal from Gorguts on this title track from their new album, Colored Sands. The LP is dropping August 30th, and I'd be willing to call this my favorite album of the year if every other track on this release is just as wild, groovy, and darkly harmonious. Not only does the band showcase a fantastic command of groove and interplay on the difficult riffs laid out here, but the massive sound is brings the detailed writing here to another level. Enjoy!

Download: Arsis- Lepers Caress Arsis are the next artists in line to have Scion put out another free EP for streaming and downloading. Scion has already put out some stellar stuff in recent years, ranging from Magrudergrind to Immolation. With Lepers Caress, we just might have one of the best releases of the bunch. Virginia melodic, technical death metallers Arsis return to form with a much less glam-influenced sound than their previous LP. Throw in your textbook fretboard-wizardry from mastermind James Malone as well as a redone version of one of the band's first--and most underrated--songs, "Veil of Mourning Black," and you have the makings of one hell of a 19-minute listen. Hell, it's free! Why would you not check this out?!

Thanks, Kit!
