Autopsy - The Headless Ritual

While Autopsy is sounding much heavier on The Headless Ritual, these death metal veterans just didn't seem to put in the songwriting effort that they did on their last full-length, Macabre Eternal.

Destruction Unit - "The World On Drugs"

When Arizona's Destruction Unit named this track "The World On Drugs," I guess they weren't messing around. The song feels like a multi-phased trip that starts like a piece of hardcore punk, but suddenly shapeshifts into some slow-moving heavy psych. All the while, the band's guitars are loud, distorted, phased, and enveloping.

While the song doesn't really have a strong hook or melodic flavor, the riffs are unrelenting and the vocals come through as being pretty eccentric. Give a listen, go wild, break something. Enjoy!
