Taking inspiration from the American Civil War, Goldmund's latest album is a series of piano-interpreted folk songs from that era. "Shenandoah" is the first song to drop from the album, and it glimmers with beauty and hope. The acoustic guitar playing--which is a surprising and welcome addition for a Goldmund album--adds a lot more flavor than I expected. This dude, Keith Kenniff, really has a great ear for melody.
