Crying delivers one of the most triumphant, diverse, and instrumentally intricate rock records I've heard this year.

Veronica Falls - "Nobody There"
New TracksCommentDespite my somewhat lukewarm feelings on the latest album from pop rock outfit Veronica falls, I have to admit the band still manages to pack a lot of punch into a single. "Nobody There" may circle around some jangly chord progressions that are familiar to the band, but the hook is still killer. Enjoy!
Camera Obscura - "Do It Again"
New TracksCommentGlasgow's classy, catchy, and quaint Camera Obscura has a new album on the way titled Desire Lines, which is looking at a release on 4AD, and "Do It Again" is the first track to drop from it. It's an incredibly sweet and fancy-free track that features an odd synth and an uplifting chorus. Enjoy!
Makthaverskan - II

Makthaverskan - II
New TracksCommentSweden's Makthaverskan embraces the tenants of jangle and noise pop on this new collection of tracks, II. While the band's punk roots still remain on many tracks here--especially "Distance"--they show up in subtler ways: light distortion, fast tempos, and frontwoman Maja Milner's sharp, abrasive voice.
The songs are as catchy as they are energetic. Don't expect nothing but sugar on this thing, though. Milner's lyrics put some pretty dirty laundry on display. Just try not to wince at the bitterness that comes through on a track like "No Mercy." Enjoy!
