A group of quick, cursory reviews and mentions of some songs and albums that I wanted to talk about for the past week, but didn't get a chance to. So, they have wound up in this video.
As we gear up for a lot of great album releases this year, a few choice LPs are getting some stream action on the internet. The Decemberists' the King is Dead is getting played in full at NPR Music while Wire's Red Barked Tree is getting the same treatment at the Guardian. Enjoy and expect reviews!-
Many of y'all know Wire as the only band to have scored a 10/10 among my hundreds of album reviews. The classic post-punk outfit is planning to release a new album at the beginning of next year. It's title: Red Barked Tree. They're releasing it on their label, Pink Flag, and the track below will be on it. Being the literal individuals they are, the song actually lasts two minutes.
