Today, A Country Western released their final single, "I Found," from their upcoming album, Audition Tape, out October 21 on Crafted Sounds.

Listen below:

The Philadelphia band is comfortably nestled into the East Coast shoegaze-inflected indie rock ecosystem. Mixed by Ian Norris (Taurus Judge, Menu) and Dan Angel (TAGABOW, Glaring Orchid), their upcoming album finds the band caught in the web of their genre-spanning influences as they work to compartmentalize surveillance capitalism and modern isolation.

Hypnagogic programmed drums from Paris Parker give Derek Hengemihle's whispered vocals a gentle assist. The sleepy track marks a shift from their anthemic 2024 debut, Life on the Lawn.

Says band member Garrett Miades:

"The way Paris sang allowed me to add spaces between their syllables. When I cut a syllable I re-pasted that shit more times than one and it panned out. I’m really into the idea of recognizing a good chord progression or riff and sticking to it for a whole song - understanding when you’ve got something that can last. The verse progression felt mellow and soothing when I listened to it for long periods of time on repeat. The programmed drums emphasize the repetition of the chords, and so do the matching lyrics Paris and I sing, like we’re vowing the same thing."
