Cornell University cancels Homecoming Concert amid sexual assault allegations

The Cornell Concerts Commission took to social media on Friday, October 9th, to announce the cancellation of the university's homecoming show. The concert was set to feature a DJ set by indie group Between Friends at Barton Hall.

The organization said in their announcement, “we stand with Jane Doe and all survivors of sexual violence.” Read the full statement below:

The student-run organization's decision comes amidst allegations that were put forth against the university and members of the Chi Phi fraternity by Jane Doe, a former Cornell student, on September 16th, 2026.

According to CNN, Doe first notified authorities of alleged sexual assault by seven members of the fraternity in November of 2024. Much scrutiny has been put on not only the seven men, but also Cornell University itself for its handling of the misconduct.

Between Friends has yet to comment on the cancellation of the homecoming concert.
