Daft Punk has entered the LEGO Universe with upcoming official Pyramid set

Daft Punk have gone around the world so many times, they are now entering the world of LEGO. On October 22, the LEGO Group announced their partnership with Daft Punk through a teaser video online. The video depicts Daft Punk as LEGO characters, following a giant red brick through a portal to an ethereal EDM plane.

The video was accompanied by an announcement on LEGO’s website detailing how the iconic Daft Punk robots will be incorporated into the LEGO universe, starting with an official LEGO set of the duo’s iconic stage from their 2007 ALIVE tour. The set was originally designed by Patrick Harboun, who lives in Luxembourg, and his son. The pair designed the set in 2020 as a way to pass the time together during the Covid-19 lockdown.

“This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and LEGO,” Harboun said in a press release by LEGO. “We never dared imagine it would take off in this way.”

They submitted the set for LEGO’s ‘Music to Our Ears’ challenge in 2020, winning the grand prize. Their set was also submitted to LEGO Ideas, a platform where fans can vote for their favorite custom sets, and any set to surpass 10,000 votes is considered for official approval. The final design is still under review, and no official launch date has been announced for the product.
