Afro Nation is heading back to the beach next summer, and its first batch of performers is already stacked.

Davido, Rema, and Fally Ipupa will headline Afro Nation Portugal when the festival returns to Praia da Rocha in Portimão from June 9 through June 11, 2027.

Afro Nation has made the Algarve beach its Portuguese home since launching there in 2019. Built around afrobeats and music from across the African diaspora, the festival has expanded its programming over the years to encompass amapiano, R&B, dancehall, hip-hop, and African electronic music. Its beach setting also incorporates fashion, food, and other cultural programming alongside the concerts.

The event has grown considerably since its debut. More than 40,000 people from 180 countries attended its fifth-anniversary edition in 2025, which featured Burna Boy, Tems, Mary J. Blige, Davido, and Booba. Afro Nation has also expanded beyond Portugal with editions and events in Africa, North America, and the Caribbean.

For 2027, Omah Lay, Odeal, Shenseea, Valiant, Victony, Bamby, Miimii KDS, and Rayvanny are among the first artists joining the headliners on the Lit Stage.

Amapiano will maintain its own home at Piano People, which Afro Nation introduced to its Portugal festival in 2022. Kabza De Small leads the stage’s initial lineup alongside TxC, Dlala Thukzin, Young Stunna, Zee Nxumalo, W4DE, and others.

The Afrotronic Takeover is also returning, with Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko, and JNR SA representing the festival’s African electronic programming.

Next year’s edition moves Afro Nation roughly a month earlier than its recent July dates. An opening party is scheduled for June 8, followed by the three-day festival and a closing party on June 12.
