In the heat of the summer, he returned.

This past week, Northern Belfast singer-songwriter Ciarán McDonald has been teasing his long-awaited comeback. Now writing and recording music under his own name, Ciarán has just released his first single in almost four years.

Formerly performing under the moniker Bearface, the Ex-BROCKHAMPTON member has seen fit to return to music with a new song, "K-Bar," alongside an accompanying music video. His boyish lead vocals are paired with some choppy bass and drum samples, hinting at a newer direction for the artist. This marks the first new material from Ciarán since the boyband's breakup in 2022.

Ciarán wrote on his website:

"I really and truly appreciate every single person who has remained excited at even the prospect of me coming back and releasing something. It's been an extensive and intentional process and I hope you can enjoy the music (and the process of that which it comes) with an open heart and I hope it can become something that you could see yourself living with for a long while."

In addition to the new single, Ciarán also announced a surprise show at New York's Christ & St Stephen’s Church on August 6th, which quickly sold out. He added that "there will be more to come."
