Allegations against Jared Leto are back in the spotlight following the release of the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, which features interviews with 10 women who describe encounters with the actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman spanning more than a decade.

According to the documentary, four of the women accuse Leto of conduct that could amount to criminal offenses, alleging the incidents took place while they were teenagers between 2002 and 2016. Nine of the women are speaking publicly for the first time.

Among the allegations, one woman claims Leto sexually assaulted her in a Las Vegas motel bathroom when she was 17. Another alleges he threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A third says she had a sexual relationship with Leto in California when she was 17, below the state's age of consent at the time, and claims he dismissed concerns after she raised the issue of her age. A fourth woman alleges Leto made repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16 and suggested they have sex.

The documentary also includes claims from four additional women who describe receiving what the characterize as inappropriate and sexually charged phone calls while they were young. The BBC says it reviewed an NDA that one of the women was allegedly asked to sign to prevent her from discussing her interactions with Leto, which she declined to sign.

Several of the women's accounts were corroborated through conversations with friends and family members who were told about the alleged incidents at the time. The BBC also says it reviewed messages and photographs that support portions of their accounts.

The film also features interviews with two former members of the Thirty Seconds to Mars touring crew, who allege staff were uncomfortable with the way Leto interacted with teenage girls. They claim he would sometimes invite them backstage or to the home where the band was recording.

"I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big," one former crew member says in the documentary.

The BBC documentary follows previous public allegations made against Leto. In 2025, nine women accused him of inappropriate behavior in an Air Mail report, while DJ Allie Teilz also publicly alleged that Leto assaulted her when she was 17. Leto denied those claims at the time.

Responding to the BBC documentary, Leto again denied all allegations of unlawful sexual conduct.

"I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life," the Oscar-winning actor said in a statement issued through his publicist. "These claims are absolutely and categorically false."

The documentary, which aired Wednesday, presents allegations covering a 14-year period but does not report that any criminal charges have been filed against Leto in connection with the claims.
