French DJ, producer, and electro house musician Kavinsky, real name Vincent Belorgey, has died aged 50.

He was found dead in his home in Paris on Tuesday evening. Prosecutors have opened an investigation to ascertain the cause of death, according to French outlet BFM. Prosecutors also claim “first responders found no suspicious elements ​at the ​scene.” Another police source says Kavinsky had complained about headaches days prior, per LeFigaro.

Kavinsky was behind the hit song “Nightcall” featured in the opening credits of the Nicolas Winding Refn-directed 2011 movie Drive, starring Ryan Gosling. It was co-written and co-produced with Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and sung by Lovefoxxx, lead singer of Brazilian group CSS. He performed the song at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics closing ceremony, with Belgian singer Angèle providing lead vocals and alongside French band Phoenix. His last full-length solo release was Reborn in 2022.
