Interpol announce North American headline tour

Today, Interpol announced that they'd be going on another North American tour later this year, adding a string of new dates to their ever-increasing lineup. The NYC alt rock band, who announced in March that a new record is on the way, will be traveling to several cities across North America this summer and fall, tapping Youth Lagoon, Loathe, julie, DIIV, and French Police as support.

In March, the band shared on social media that their new music is "coming soon," and that the members had already recorded new material. They also announced that drummer Sam Foragino would not be joining them on tour, as he's still recovering from health complications. Urian Hackney, the percussionist and co-founder of the Vermont punk band Rough Francis, is temporarily replacing him.

This weekend, their tour supporting Deftones kicks off in Australia, two weeks after their appearance at this year's Coachella music festival. After that, they'll begin the late summer/fall North American tour with a performance at Denver, CO's Mission Ballroom on July 31. After a one-night only performance on Sombr's North American tour on September 29, they'll close off the year with their European/UK leg, which will be a co-headlining event with Bloc Party.

Details on a new album (title, tracklist, cover, release date) have not been confirmed.

Tickets for the Interpol North American tour will go on sale Friday, May 8 at 10 am local. Fans can sign up for pre-sale access, which will begin Wednesday, May 6 at 10 am local.
