Russian stadium cancels Kanye West concerts: "there was and is no lease agreement'

St. Petersburg's Gazprom Arena cancelled the October Kanye West (aka Ye) concerts in a Telegram post, citing the lack of a contractual agreement.

The Russian stadium posted the following message on Monday:

"A concert cannot take place without a signed contract. The organizer began advertising and selling tickets without the necessary documents to hold the concert. In our case, there was and is no lease agreement for the venue. An event cannot take place without a lease agreement."

The stadium references "the organizer" in their message, which is Say Agency. The agency has since responded to the cancellation in its own Telegram post, stating that the concerts have "not been canceled."

It is unclear where the disconnect between the stadium and the agency lies; however, fans who were planning to attend the October dates of Ye's upcoming tour will have to keep their eyes peeled for developing news.
