Ukrainian metal band Septa return with their first taste of new music since 2019 with the double single On (Not) Losing Hope, featuring former Loathe guitarist Connor Sweeney on drums and guitar, out now via Venona Records.
One of the songs, "LET IT RIP," has a video out now. Jam it below:
Recorded during the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and produced, mixed and mastered by Sweeney, the two-track release depicts inevitable changes war brings into a person's daily life.
“This represents our collective state of mind — being trapped between places, hoping for things that will never come, reminiscing about our loss,” says vocalist Eugene Tymchyk (The Nietzsche, АНТАЙТЛД). “Not a huge comeback, but something more reflective of the world, the times, the country, the band.”
The band's most-recent full-length, 2019's Bitten by the Serpent of the Kingdom, featured the tracks "Emet" and "Golum," which were later selected for the official in-game radio of the popular video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
No word if a full-length is planned.
