Storm Corrosion (offshoot of Opeth, Porcupine Tree) announce second album

When Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) and Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, solo) joined forces for Storm Corrosion, many thought it would result in premium-grade metal. After all, Wilson contributed production to Opeth's seminal Blackwater Park (2001). However, the resulting self-titled LP ended up being a playground for pastoral atmospherics and 100% free of blast beats. Fans either adored it or brushed it off as self-indulgent strangeness.

Well, there’s another release coming, after years of speculation. Wilson took to Instagram with a picture of both men in the studio on May 31, along with the caption "Storm Corrosion 2, Stockholm, May 2026" – see below.

There’s no more news as of now, but count this Opeth/Wilson fan among the very, very excited.
