WHY? has always dodged convention. Their hodgepodge of hazy indie rock and saccharine hip-hop shouldn't mesh, but Yoni Wolf somehow makes it work. The Cincinnati project's ringleader has long followed his instincts and prayed someone in the ether would resonate with it.

In that same headstrong spirit, he has now released half of his upcoming double LP, Oh Golly/Yes Lord. The dual phrases, inspired by his father, attempt to compartmentalize "bad attitude" with "good gratitude," phenomena that he previously thought were diametrically opposed.

New single "Story Of My Life" appears on the second half of the album – the "Yes Lord" side.

Wolf explains, “The album is not a flattering look at my life, but that’s not the point. This is warts-and-all stuff. I’m always striving for honesty in WHY?, but Oh Golly / Yes Lord is particularly revealing.”
